Cookie policy
This website sets no tracking cookie. No personally identifying audience measurement, no advertising, no social network. That is why you met no consent banner when you arrived.
1. The principle we chose
A consent banner is only mandatory if a site sets trackers that are not essential to its operation. We took the other route: not setting any at all.
In practice that means three things:
- No profiling — your visit to this site feeds no advertising profile, here or anywhere else.
- No leakage to third parties — typefaces are hosted on our own domain, in line with the CNIL's position on fonts loaded from third-party servers. No request is made to an ad network or to a social network.
- A faster site — the absence of third-party scripts removes most of what usually slows a page down.
2. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a site you visit. The word "tracker" covers more broadly any technology that allows information to be read from or written to your equipment: cookies, local storage, invisible pixels, browser fingerprinting.
The applicable regulation is article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, which transposes the ePrivacy directive, supplemented by the CNIL's guidelines and recommendation on cookies and other trackers.
3. How we measure our audience
We need to know which pages are read, in order to improve the site. That measurement is carried out without a cookie and without an individual identifier: only aggregate data is produced — number of page views, entry pages, broad traffic origin, device type.
No visitor is identified, no individual journey is reconstructed, and no data is cross-referenced with another source. Measurement that is strictly anonymous in this way is not subject to obtaining consent.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
Some trackers are exempt from consent when they are strictly necessary to provide the service expressly requested. On this site, that arises in one situation only:
- Contact form security — the anti-robot mechanism protecting the form may, where traffic looks suspicious, set a short-lived technical cookie in your browser. Its only purpose is to check that the request does not come from an automated script. It cannot identify you or follow you from one site to another, and it is never used for advertising or statistical purposes.
No other cookie is set, including if you read the whole site without ever filling in the form.
5. What this site does not use
To remove any ambiguity, none of the following is present:
- Google Analytics, Matomo with a cookie, or any other personally identifying measurement tool
- Google Ads, the Meta Pixel, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and other advertising trackers
- social media share buttons and widgets
- maps, videos or fonts loaded from a third-party server
- A/B testing, remarketing or session recording tools
6. Checking for yourself, and taking control
You do not have to take our word for it. In your browser, open the developer tools, go to the "Application" or "Storage" tab, then the "Cookies" section: you can see directly what is set during your visit.
Independently of this site, every browser allows you to review, block or delete existing cookies, and to refuse third-party ones by default. Those settings are in your browser's privacy preferences. Blocking cookies does not affect the use of this site in any way.
7. If this policy were to change
If a tool setting a tracker subject to consent were ever added to the site, this page would be updated and a compliant consent mechanism would be deployed beforehand — with refusing as simple as accepting. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
